Neustadt a. d. Rems, Waiblingen: New era of innovation

Business leaders and politicians gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new "InnoCampus" in Neustadt a. d. Rems.

The project is expected to create hundreds of new jobs and contribute significantly to the economic development of the region.

The "InnoCampus" is a joint venture between the city of Neustadt a. d. Rems and the Waiblingen district. The project will see the construction of a new research and development center, a technology park, and a start-up incubator.

The center will be home to research teams from the University of Stuttgart and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA). The technology park will provide space for companies to develop and test new products and services.

The start-up incubator will provide support for entrepreneurs and start-ups in the region. The "InnoCampus" is expected to create hundreds of new jobs and contribute significantly to the economic development of the region.

The project is supported by the European Union's Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

The total cost of the project is €20 million. The ERDF is providing €10 million and the BMWi is providing €5 million. The remaining €5 million is being provided by the city of Neustadt a. d. Rems and the Waiblingen district.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg, and Richard Arnold, Mayor of Neustadt a. d. Rems.

"The 'InnoCampus' is a major investment in the future of our region," said Hoffmeister-Kraut. "It will create new jobs, attract new businesses, and boost the economy."

"The 'InnoCampus' is a great example of how we can work together to create a better future for our region," said Arnold. "We are very grateful for the support of the EU and the BMWi."

The "InnoCampus" is expected to be completed in 2024.
