Early Life and Rise to Power

Ebrahim Raisi was born on December 14, 1960, in Mashhad, Iran. As a young man, he joined the Islamic Revolution led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Raisi quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a close associate of Khomeini.
