Judge homers twice, Yankees topple Red Sox 6-5 to split doubleheader

Aaron Judge launched two home runs, including a tiebreaking drive in the seventh inning, to power the New York Yankees to a 6-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox, splitting their doubleheader on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Judge's second homer of the game was a 407-foot solo shot to left field off Red Sox reliever Jake Diekman that broke a 5-5 tie and gave the Yankees their first lead of the day.

With the win, the Yankees improved to 79-48 on the season, while the Red Sox fell to 65-59.

Red Sox rally to win first game of doubleheader

In the opener, the Red Sox rallied from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Yankees 5-4 in 10 innings.

Xander Bogaerts drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the top of the 10th inning, and Matt Barnes pitched a scoreless bottom of the inning to secure the victory.

The Red Sox improved to 65-58 with the win, while the Yankees fell to 78-49.

The Red Sox will return home to face the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, while the Yankees will travel to face the Chicago White Sox.
